As a communications professional, Joe Britton has nearly 20 years of experience developing and implementing public affairs, outreach, and strategic planning programs, and as a journalist.
Currently, working as a public affairs manager for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), his responsibilities include coordinating company relations with City Councils and other elected and appointed officials in the North County. In this role, he works to develop and promote civic and community relations through coordination with chambers of commerce, economic development councils and community groups. He also provides communications to key stakeholders on energy issues affecting customers and the region.
Prior to joining SDG&E, Joe managed the development and implementation of public involvement and outreach programs as a Senior Public Outreach Officer for SANDAG. He was also formerly Manager of Public Affairs for the San Diego-based public relations and communications firm Southwest Strategies.
Joe began his career as a political reporter in San Diego where he covered local, state and national elections, legislation and the offices of the region’s elected officials for nearly a decade.
